An Honor to Be Chosen

Today I was honored to have my layout chosen as a Gallery Standout.  This particular layout was created in tribute to Kim and my time at The Digichick.  As many of you know, Kim, store owner and designer extraordinaire, passed away on July 11th.  Keeping The Digichick up and running was determined to be too much for anyone else to handle.  Kim had it down and managed it beautifully even in the midst of cancer treatments that would have taken most people out of the game.  I was truly in awe at what she was able to do.

Kim was one of my all-time favorite designers.  Yesterday I was reading through her blog.  She shared many of her struggles but all the while continued to provide freebies for her fans.  If you haven’t read it you should.

This is the layout chosen as a Gallery Standout.  It tells how I felt as a customer in addition to being on the store CT.  Many have expressed the same sentiments over the last couple of weeks.

The Digichick was my favorite store.  The Digichick designers are my favorites too and the challenges were always fun.  I love a good challenge!  I will truly miss everything about it and the people there.

Today is the last day for purchases and the entire store is on sale.  Don’t miss it!  Shop here.

The End of an Era

It’s another sad day in the digital scrapping world today.  While I do have The Digichick Designers Collaboration to share with you today I’m sad because it will be the last.  They have done a fabulous job and it’s a testament to their design skills and tenacity.

In the last two weeks, we have experienced the loss of our beloved leader, Kim Lichtfuss, on July 11th, and the difficult decision to close down The Digichick at the end of July.  The Digichick creative team and designers have all been reeling.  Kim was incredible.  She kept the site running like a well-oiled machine, created new kits as Kimeric Kreations, put out two weekly newsletters, and kept her optimistic spirit while undergoing cancer treatment that would have knocked most of us out.  I know it was Kim’s desire to keep the store going.  She had amazing IT skills but sadly passed away before she could fully train a successor and her shoes proved too big to fill.  There is none other like her!  Please keep Eric, her family, and friends in prayer.

Here are the layouts I created with the TDC Collab, Good Times Crazy Friends.  It’s on sale.  I hope you can see how versatile this collaboration is.

The first layout is my friend and me (right) having fun in a photo booth.  Are they still around?

I created the next two as a sentiment for Kim and The Digichick.  My thanks to Eric for generously providing many photos of Kim for us to share.  She is missed by so many.

And this one is for the Digichicks, a remarkable group of ladies that came together to share their love of digital scrapbooking and became family.  Thanks for the amazing memories.

In case you’re still on the fence, here’s a preview of the entire collection.
