New Releases are Live at Pickleberrypop April 28, 2020

New releases are live at Pickleberrypop! I’ve created a couple of layouts this week. My first layout is a photoless layout, created using Chantal’s lovely hand-painted flowers. This layout gives a little peek at what I’ve been up to while staying home.  As an introvert, leaning towards hermit, I haven’t had a hard time dealing with the isolation but the constant bad news on television is disturbing.  In an effort to keep my mind occupied and focused on more optimistic things I’ve really leaned into my artwork.  I hope you’re able to devote a good portion of your time to positive things as well!  All the sales and iNSD ought to give you a reason to smile.

Making Memories in Lockdown

Making memories while in lockdown are what the templates are about. A worldwide Pandemic is something we haven’t seen before no matter what age you are. All across the United States, and many other countries, everyone has been told to stay home to stop the spread. If this isn’t a time worthy of documenting I don’t know what is. This template set, Making Memories #12 by Heartstrings Scrap Art are a perfect way to get started. You’ll find them here.

I have a couple of layouts to share with you today. I had already started self-isolating before it was ordered by the governor of Texas. In the midst of the constant news reports, I found I needed to keep busy to relieve some of the stress. Ironically my house is cleaner than it’s been in years but no one can visit. In addition to house cleaning, I’ve been busy cooking and baking. I made a batch of Oatmeal cookies first. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find flour since then. I’ve had to use some mixes for muffins and brownies but it’s all good.

One neat thing about the template I used is the first word has alternative text. You can create layouts using “Work at Home” or “Stay at Home” or both.

Another minor annoyance that happens when all non-essential businesses are forced to close is that you can’t get a haircut. This doesn’t affect me much because I have long hair. I normally get my hair trimmed about every 7 weeks. It’s already been about 4 weeks since my last trim was due with no end in sight but I can always put my hair up if it starts bothering me. But what about people that keep their hair cut short. It’s really going to be a challenge for them. It’s not easy to fix your hair when it’s beyond what you’re used to. This is showing up on my grandson’s hair already. I don’t know if it was him or his sister that came up with this solution but I had to scrap it. It may start looking like the ’60’s & ’70’s before long!
