Here’s the layout I created. The credits are below the layout as well as the poem that the layout is based on.
Kit: When You’re Slightly Strange
Designer: Heartstrings Scrap Art
Poem Font: Another Typewriter
There are little eyes upon you, and they’re watching night & day;
There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say;
There are little hands all eager to do all the things you do,
And a little boy who’s dreaming of the day he’ll be like you.
You’re the little fellow’s idol, you’re the wisest of the wise;
In his little mind about you no suspicions ever rise;
He believes in you devoutly and holds that all you do
He will say and do in your way when he’s all grown up like you.
There’s a wide-eyed little fellow who believes you’re always right,
And his ears are always open and he watches day and night,
You are setting an example every day in all you do,
For the little boy who’s waiting to grow up to be like you.

How often do you design layouts vertically? I think the look is very striking and this month’s Style Challenge at Pickleberrypop is all about vertical rows. Here is my layout for the Vertical Row Style Challenge using Don’t Wish It All Away by Fayette Designs.
This month’s Use It All Challenge is hosted by Bryony of Heartstrings Scrap Art. Bryony created a mini kit for the challenge called Butterfly Garden. You can get it here. I’ve always been fascinated by butterflies. I think their transformation is amazing!
I recently read a story about the struggle they go through during metamorphosis. In the story, a little boy learns about the process first hand. He also learns a valuable life lesson about struggles and how they help us develop. You can read the story here.
I feel very confident in saying none of us love to go through struggles but they are for our benefit. Every new challenge we go through is an opportunity to grow and mature. Plus when you come to the next challenge you’re better prepared to face it.
Here is the layout I created with this free mini kit.
And here’s one final quote about butterflies that also applies to people,
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely consider the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” ~Author Unknown
