A couple of years ago, when Mill was 3 years old, her Daddy took her to see Santa.  She was so excited until she got up close!  Santa looks a little scary up close!  She wouldn’t sit on his lap unless Daddy did too.  So Daddy sat on Santa’s lap and Mill sat on Daddy’s lap and they got the photo.  Priceless!  As they were leaving the mall Mill said “I love Santa!”  Daddy asked if she wanted to go back and sit on his lap so they could get another photo.  She declined!  The kit is Jolie Belle Jardin Rose from Touched By a Butterfly.  You can find it here http://www.mymemories.com/store/designers/Touched_By_A_Butterfly.  The font is HFF Pessoas Lindas.

My son texted this picture to me yesterday.  It was such an exciting morning.  Miller woke up to find her caterpillar cocoon was empty!  Overnight a transformation had taken place and now she  had  a beautiful butterfly!

This morning Miller called be to tell me happy birthday.  I told her it was exciting about her caterpillar turning into a butterfly! She said, “What”? I repeated myself with the same enthusiasm and she said, “Oh! Yeah! He died.  Out of the mouths of babes, lol.

Another take on octagons! Used Summer Salsa (Sassy Designz), the font is Janda Elegant Handwriting.

I made this using the octagons made by the previous tutorial.  I used Bella Gypsy kit Giraffity and the fonts are Kingthings Embroidery & X Stitch.

You can also do side by side comparisons.  I like the second one better, how about you?

Family photos-from the top: Mother & Daddy;  Clint, Daddy & Blake;  Dennis, me & Daddy; Mother, Dennis & me; and me.  I had to laugh at the comparison of the picture on the right-me with waist length hair and my brother with short hair then a couple of years later I’ve chopped mine all off & he’s letting his grow!  Go figure!  The late 60’s, early 70’s-things were changing!  Family Quilt! Kit used My Garden Grows which is part of SUNsational Summer (StoryRock).

First birthdays are so much fun!  My grand daughter was very reluctant to put her hand in the cake mommy made.  At first she’d only stick one finger in but eventually she got into it.  She wasn’t feeling well that day but we had a lot of fun sharing one of her “firsts”.  For these two layouts I used “Birthday Smash” by Sugar Moon Designs.  For the first page I used a template from Lindsay Jane Designs and added some word art from a Saxon Holt Creation “Let Them Eat Cake”.  Layout #2 is all “Birthday Smash” & the font used is Snap ITC.
