New Releases are Live at Pickleberrypop Jan 14, 2020

New releases are now live and on sale at Pickleberrypop!  I used a black background paper in my sample layout today.  I seldom use black or extremely dark backgrounds but when I do I always love the results.  Dark backgrounds make everything else pop.  The credits are below the layout and are linked to the store.  I love this set of templates too.  Be sure to check them out.

January Bonus Challenge at Pickleberrypop

January’s bonus challenge worked out perfectly for me.  I love creating a layout with my goals for the year.  Then I modify if enough to use as the desktop wallpaper on my computer.  This helps me keep my goals in mind.  Plus, it’s pretty!  So here is my 2020 goal layout.  The credits below the layout are linked to the store for the kit and also to the challenge in the forum.

Use It All Challenge January 2020

Use It All challenge this month is hosted by Isa at Bellisae Designs.  I must admit I loved this one so much I also picked up her full kit by the same name.  If you want to participate in the challenge you’re only supposed to use the mini kit but as a CT member, I’m not eligible for prizes anyway, so I used some pieces from the full kit too.  The credits below the layout are linked to the challenge and also to the kit if you want to pick that up too!

Template Challenge January 2020

Template challenges are fun.  You get a free template and you can use whichever kit you prefer.  The template this month was designed by Heartstrings Scrap Art and I love it!  I also love her most recent collection, Tapestry of Life.  You may remember I used this same kit on my last layout and it won Layout of the Week at Pickleberrypop!  Naturally, since I love both, I had to pair these two together and I really like the resulting layout.  Here is my layout. The challenge and kit are listed below the layout and they’re both linked to the store.

Mystery Box Challenge December 2019

It’s the final Mystery Box for 2019 and it’s a hodgepodge of delightful goodies. This is one of my favorites challenges because you just never know what you’re going to get.  The designers contribute their portions without any idea what the other designers are contributing so it really is a mystery all the way around. If you’d like to give it a go you can get the Mystery Box here.

We’re already a week into December, so you’re at an advantage.  You can see a good sampling of what’s included by checking out the layouts that are already posted.  Here’s mine.

December Journaling Challenge at Pickleberrypop

I’d love to have you join me for the Journaling Challenge I’m hosting this month at Pickleberrypop.  The challenge is to journal about 5 of your favorite things about Christmas or Winter (your choice).  The twist is to use a combination of stamps, photos, & shapes, then add text, word strips, or word art to tell the story that the stamps/photos represent.

Here are a couple of examples I created.  My first layout is for Christmas.  I used photos or elements to create stamps of my favorite things.  Then I used word strips and a countdown theme to tell the story of our Christmas traditions.

The layout for winter using shapes combines two photos + 3 three “journal card” shapes with elements that depict snow, snowmen, and winter foliage.  I then used a combination of one word-strip and text to tell the story.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge and hope you will too.
