Today’s challenge word is signs.  I love going to antique stores and looking at all the goodies.  This kit “Southern Magnolias” by Touched By A Butterfly has so many great elements I just had to make this page.  One thing you can always find in an antique store is signs.  I love ’em.

This was not a “let’s finger paint” moment. My sweet, creative granddaughter work up before daddy.  I guess she didn’t see the need to wake him up so she got into her mommies oil paint and got busy. When daddy woke up she was asleep beside him (I guess she wore herself out) and blue from head to toe!  Freaked him out, lol!!  It was a very smurfy day!

Today’s challenge is “favorite color”.  This one is very difficult for me.  I have a lot of faves and favorite color combinations.   At the top of the list is RED.  If I’ve got red, yellow and green in a layout I’m going to be very happy.  This combo rocks as far as I’m concerned.  Here’s one example.

Today’s word challenge word is “garden”.  Although we’ve lived in a rural area for over 23 years I’m still a city girl at heart!  We planted a huge vegetable garden the first summer after we moved here.  We also had 3 peach trees and a plum tree.  We had a wonderful bounty but it was a lot of work.  I decided to stick with the fruit and vegies at the local grocers.  One thing I particularly miss is tomatoes.  You just can’t beat home grown.   The kit I used is a facebook freebie by Digital Design Essentials.  If you’d like to get loads of freebies and play along with the word challenge go to Digi Scrapping Freebies on facebook.

This is the layout I used for the #1 Dad Contest on the My Memories Blog.  I think my son is an AWESOME Dad!  He loves spending time with his daughter and he is so patient, kind and understanding with her.  When she was very young I told him that he is the first man she will ever love and to always remember that and that he is the one teaching her how a man should treat her.   She is a precious gift from God and he is doing a fantastic job.  He adores her and she adores him.  This picture is a few years old but I just love it.  I love her expression and how he is holding her protectively.  The kit is All in a Day from Albums to Remember and the Word Art is by A Bit Wordy Word Art.
