New Releases at The Digichick October 27, 2016

New releases at The Digichick October 27 are a virtual cornucopia of delight.  I had the pleasure of working with a couple of new products this week.  I created this layout with Circle of Friends template by Christaly using Created by Jill’s new kit, Roll with the Changes.

Layout #2 was created using Shades of Grey by Veronica Spriggs.  I love the colors in this mostly monochromatic kit.  It made me think of our countries current state of affairs where so many insist there is no definite right or wrong but many shades of grey that should impact our decisions.  I disagree with that philosophy but it is an indicator of the times in which we live.

Infographics Style Scrapbook Layout

Infographics Style

To say I’m intrigued by the infographics style scrapbook layout might be an understatement. The Scrapaneers Champions Class for April 2016 is all about infographics.  After I watched the video I became obsessed with making a scrapbook layout in that style.  I’d never done one before but I really like how infographics look so I’ve been thinking about it for a few days. I finally chose one of the templates from the class and got started.  I am really pleased with how it turned out and hope to use this style more in the future.  What about you?  If you haven’t used infographics as an inspiration previously, I challenge you to give it a try.

New Releases at The Digichick October 20, 2016

New releases at The Digichick for October 20th are mostly centered around Halloween.  That makes it difficult for someone like me that does not promote or participate in Halloween!  But Alexis Design Studio has a lovely sewing themed kit this week. Grandma’s Sewing Room is perfect for sewing layouts.

Next Designer Competition Round 1 Freebies

I Made It Through the Next Designer Competition Round 1

I entered the Next Designer Competition at DigitalScrapbookingStudio this month.  So far I made it through Round 1 voting. Whew!  It wasn’t easy.  Most of the competitors are already professional designers, selling their goods in store across digi-land.  Voting for Round 2 starts Friday at 11:59 am EST.  I’ve got my entry posted and hope to make it through Round 2 voting. Since Round 1 is complete I’ve got freebies for you.  In Round 1, we made 5 cardstock and 5 patterned papers.  We’re limited to the color palette that won the Pick the Palette contest. Let me tell you, it’s very difficult to be limited to 5 colors plus black & white to darken/lighten them. My design is about autumn leaves so I would have loved to be able to use yellow and green! To get the freebies click the download links below.

Freebie #1 – Cardstock

Freebie #2 – Patterned Papers

Round #2 Elements

For Round #2, we are still confined to using the very limited color palette plus black & white. I’ve posted my entry and I will post the link to vote on Friday afternoon.  Here’s a preview of the elements I created.  Once the voting is complete I’ll post the download link here. I need your vote to move on.

New Releases at The Digichick October 5, 2016

This week’s new releases at The Digichick will not disappoint!  I had the pleasure of working with Kimeric Kreation’s new kit Autumn Country Market.  Kim’s kit is fully loaded with goodies and gorgeous colors.  One thing I love about Kim, her and her CT always have tons of coordinating freebies in her Newsletter and blog.  So be sure to sign up for her Newsletter and check out her blog.  You’ll be glad you did!

This layout was used for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge at The Digichick.  This is one of my favorite challenges.  If you haven’t tried it, you should!  It’s always fun.

New Releases at The Digichick September 29, 2016

This week’s new releases are as diverse as the designers at The Digichick.  From celebrating Autumn to sports themes, there is something for everyone!  The new releases also kick-off DSD weekend.  That’s right, it’s been moved up a month from November to October.  Join us in The Digichick Forum for some fun and games!

Layout #1  This layout combines the Fall Fest Collection and Layered Up Template by Kimeric Kreations.  This kit is perfect for all your fall layouts and this template is a super setup to include many photos.  This layout is all about my hubby’s historical hometown and the beautiful foliage there in the fall.  Andy Griffith was also from Mount Airy and he used it to model the fictitious town of Mayberry.  Busloads of tourists still come to Mount Airy every day to visit The Snappy Lunch (Oprah ate one of the World Famous Pork Chop Sandwiches here), Floyd’s Barber Shop, Wally’s Service Station and other stores that carry Mayberry memorabilia.  It’s a lovely, quaint place in the mountains of North Carolina.  In September they celebrate Mayberry Days and in October, they have the Autumn Leaves Festival.  People come from all around. It’s a lot of fun!

Layout #2 I used Fall Fest Collection and a different Layered Up template for this layout because not everyone has the beautiful fall foliage but the kit is very versatile.

Layout #3  Akizo Designs’ new kit, Tennis Addict, has everything you’ll need to scrap you or your tennis player.  I used to play tennis.  Sadly, my biggest “mad skill” was keeping the ball boy on his toes!

Here’s an example of what you can do.  Draw a shape add a Glass Button Style Effect (any color) then change it to coordinate with your layout.
