New Releases from The Digichick June 16, 2016

I have a couple of layouts to share today from this week’s new releases.  The first is a gorgeous new kit, Unforgettable, from Kimeric Kreations.  I love the neutral papers with pops of colors provided by the graffiti & embellishments.  I also used a previously released template by The Nifty Pixel.  The second layout  uses one of The Nifty Pixel’s new page draft templates, CSI Vol 1. I love her templates and I used a free mini kit that she designed as well.

Remember, all new releases are on sale through Sunday at midnight.

A Novel Idea!

I found the Novel Idea Challenge at The DigiChick to be very interesting.  I love challenges and this one was totally new to me.  The goal was to use an antique book cover as inspiration for a layout.  It could be the title, the picture, the colors, whatever inspired you.  I hear a lot these days about dreaming, pursuing your dreams and finding your purpose in life.  With that in mind, I chose a book titled Dreaming and Doing.  Here’s the book cover I used.
Dreaming-and-Doing

I’m not totally sure it’s an antique book since this seems to be a more contemporary idea, but I like the title and the colors so it’s the one I chose.  If this challenge intrigues you as it did me, you can find the Novel Idea Challenge here.   There are even links to browse for an antique cover that inspires you.

Here’s the layout I made using this cover as my inspiration.   The kit I used is Listen to the Music by Kimeric Kreations.

My Sweet Valentine

My husband and I don’t actually celebrate Valentine’s day.  He has surprised me a couple of times over the last thirty-one years but they were exceptions to the rule.  Leading up to Valentine’s day designers release tons of products aimed at this day.  The layout I made today uses a template from JoCee Designs and a kit by Snickerdoodle Designs.  My layout is not too “Valentiney”, but then neither am I.

Scrapbooker: Then and Now

I recently saw a cute definition of “scrapbooker” on Pinterest.  I know there are still traditional paper scrappers around so the title may be a little misleading but once you go digital I can’t imagine anyone going back.  Anyway, I thought the definition needed a little updating so I made this page.

Scrapbooker Then & Now

Since scrapping & shopping for scrapping stuff can be quite time consuming when do traditional scrappers have time to get all the supplies out then clean up & put everything back when done.  That’s one of my favorite things about digi scrapping – no cleanup!  Instant, or fairly instant, gratification is also quite nice.

True, there are a lot of similarities but I vote digi all the way.  Bonus; it’s easier to share your layouts and get inspiration from other scrappers that share their layouts too.  Fun, fun, fun!

One Click Color Changing in PSPx6

Have you ever found the perfect element you’d like to use but it’s the wrong color?  Did you know it’s easy to change the color of elements to the perfect color?  Yep, that right, you can do it with one click!   Check out this easy tutorial.

Maybe you’ve wondered how that special blouse would look in a different color.  It’s easy to find out!  Or maybe you’re fixing to post a photo but think you’d look a lot better if you had worn you royal blue instead of light blue.  No problem, you’re just one-click away from perfection.  You may not be able to buy one in every color but it can look like you did!

There, now that looks better.  Post that baby then let’s all have some ice cream!

This works for elements on your digital scrapbook pages too.  One-click, new color!

New PSPx6 Tutorial on Making Pocket Pages

I love to put pockets on pages. What about you?  I just think the look of stuff spilling out looks so neat.  I found a pretty easy way to do it in PaintShop Pro x6 so I wrote a tutorial.  On this page, I just added a pocket on this page as part of the embellishments.  Making pockets and pocket pages adds another option when you have a lot more than just photos to keep.

Summer Fun Splash

I wrote the tutorial on how to make an entire page that’s a pocket because sometimes you just have too much stuff for one little pocket!  Right? You can find the tutorial here.

I welcome your comments and I’d love to see your layouts on my Facebook group.  You’ll find it here https://www.facebook.com/groups/digiscrappingtipsgroup/

Everything on this page was created by me using Paintshop Pro x6.

New Blinkie

I tried to clean up my blinkie a little.  The first one was done in rapid succession-I decided I needed a blinkie, downloaded paintshop pro so I could make one, did the best I could to make one without knowing a thing about the psp & I was done!  But it’s always bothered me because it wasn’t prefect.  This one is not perfect either but I’m still experimenting & learning as I go.  So here is the cleaned up version.
